What was the first piece of jewelry you ever received or purchased for yourself?

The first piece of jewelry that I received which was memorable to me, was a ruby and gold necklace with matching earrings. They hold significance because they were given to my Mother from her Mother on the day I was born. My Mother brought the piece along with the earrings to the States when we migrated from Iran and gave it to me when I was old enough to appreciate it and understand its history and significance in our family.

Tell us two of your qualities that make you a gem.

I treat people with respect, not only because that is how I want to be treated but because I also have respect for myself. I have a great sense of humor and it has helped me get through many tough situations If I can laugh at it, I can deal with it.

Rubies, sapphires, or emeralds? And Why?

Emeralds, because it is my birth stone, also because it is the color of Earth and represents life.

Share with us your pearls of wisdom.

I look at life from a circular perspective, not a linear perspective. Everything you do comes back to you, the only hold up is time. Stupidity travels in large numbers, just because everyone is doing the same thing or believes in the same thing does not make it right.

If you could click your ruby slippers together and transport to a vacation somewhere, where would it be?

At this moment, I would click my ruby slippers and travel to Italy. Specifically Venice, Rome and Sardinia. Each for their beauty and historic significance.
